Home Battery – Customer Profile Form

This form will ask questions that help us match the right home battery to suit your requirements, home electrical infrastructure, future plans and budget. Please check out this Battery Characteristics summary before completing this form. [opens in new window]

Whilst we have a solid backlog of sales enquiries received over a short period of time, we have developed this form to ask the common battery-related questions to help guide our home battery and/or solar recommendations to you in a timely manner.

Following your approval of a battery (and/or solar) quote, we are able to generate a referral to the Tasmanian Energy Saver Loan Scheme (Tas Govt interest-free & fee-free financing), and we will then confirm technical aspects prior to an installation.

Don’t worry if you can’t answer some of the questions or you don’t feel technically “savvy” enough to upload photos, etc. A HEG Consultant will be able to visit you onsite, obligation and cost-free, in due course.

Please Enter Your Landline or Mobile / Cell Number
Physical Address
Please enter the physical street address of the dwelling where the battery would be installed

Home Battery Questions

Brand / Type of Battery
Whilst there are literally hundreds of battery brands on the market, we have intentionally selected a small robust range that is suitable for a wide range of residential dwellings and requirements, and which have good after-sales support.

Anticipated size of home battery (approx kWh)
If you have researched and have a size in mind for your battery, please indicate below. As a rule of thumb, the larger the house, the larger the solar system or the bigger the power bill, the larger the battery required.

Note: we ALWAYS promote energy efficiency measures, such as home insulation or heat pumps to lower power bills first.

Batteries are not allowed in a habitable area, such as a bedroom or living room. They can be outside and exposed to the weather/elements, or located in an enclosed garage (recommended). Ideally a position out of direct sunlight would be best.
Material of wall behind intended battery position

Please ensure you include 2m either side of the intended battery position i.e. don’t take a photo too close to the position so we can see the context of where it is.

Bollards are protective upright poles that are affixed to a concrete slab, typically. They are required if the battery is in a garage, driveway or other position where vehicles may potentially run into the battery system.

    Existing Solar System Details

This section is only relevant if you have an existing solar system at the property
Current number of inverters at the property?
Most solar systems have a single inverter, but some larger systems have two.

The solar system size (measured in kW) is a combination of the number of solar panels multiplied by the rated capacity of each panel e.g. 350W panel x 20 = 7000W (7kW).
Existing types of inverter(s) or solar system
What is currently at the property? Ignore if you don’t have solar yet.

    Electrical Infrastructure

Most residential dwellings are single phase. Often houses with sheds, regional properties that use machinery or those which have had floor heating in the past are three-phase. If you’re unsure, send a photo of your switchboard and electricity meter (if you haven’t already in the previous form submission).
Please ensure that the writing on the circuits can be read. Ignore if you have previously sent us a switchboard photo.
    Max. file size: 100 MB.
We use the information on the meter when submitting paperwork to TasNetworks. Ignore if you have previously sent us a switchboard photo.
    Max. file size: 100 MB.
Please indicate if within 3m of switchboard or sub-board, whether external to house or in enclosed garage, on a shed (and how far approx from the house it is) etc
    Preferred payment / financing option
The Tasmanian Energy Saver Loan Scheme has been implemented by the Tasmanian Government via their finance partner, Brighte. It provides up to $10k interest-free for energy efficiency investments, including home batteries & rooftop solar.
