We service:

  • Heat Pumps (reverse cycle air conditioners)
  • Ducted Air Circulation Systems (see below)
  • Rooftop Solar Systems (electrical safety checks and panel cleans)

Heat pump servicing saves you $$$!

Ensure that your heat pump is running as efficiently as possible. This will let you save money on heater costs, increase the lifespan of the unit, improve comfort levels and often reduce noise levels.

Heat pump not working? If your heat pump has an issue or is not in operation, then a service is not going to fix that. Instead, submit a Heat Pump Warranty Enquiry if the unit was installed less than 5 years ago, or contact HEG to do an inspection/fix by calling 1300 96 80 60.

Heat Pump SOS (Service)

A Heat Pump SOS (System Optimisation Service) is a thorough cleaning, performance test and inspection of your heat pump. Manufacturers recommend an annual SOS on inside and outside units. HEG™ technicians do a more thorough job than our competitors due to our attention to detail. The base service fee (Summer special) is $165, with ducted heat pump systems being $198 (as it takes longer due to the ducting integrity investigation).

As dust, mould, detritus, vegetation, cobwebs and hair get stuck in the fins and coils of the inside and outside units of your heat pump, it becomes harder and harder for your heat pump to absorb and release heat (or cool).

A Heat Pump SOS brings the heat pump back to near-new efficiency, often saving $10 to $15 in weekly running costs.

Heat Pumps are like cars...
Just like a car needs regular service to ensure air filters don’t become blocked, and to inspect for potential issues, so is your reverse cycle air conditioner (heat pump).

A build-up of dust, lint, spider webs, moths, mould, bacteria, algae, etc., can all have a detrimental effect on the operation, running costs, noise levels, health benefits and longevity of your system.

How Much Does AC/Heat Pump Servicing Cost?

Summer 2025/26 special prices for a Heat Pump SOS are outlined below:

  • Single Split System Heat Pump (wall or floor mounted) – $165 each.
  • Multi-split heat pump system – $80 per indoor or outdoor unit.
  • Cassette Heat Pump (in-ceiling) – $198
  • Ducted Heat Pump System – $198 (standard size)

We may not be able to access some high-wall systems or roofs more than a single storey high due to safety concerns.

Extra fees may apply to difficult access scenarios (e.g. where the inverter is located on a second floor of a dwelling with limited access, or a ducted system is in very narrow sub-floor confines). Subject to onsite inspection. Replacement parts (if required) extra. Travel fees of $3.30 per km one way apply to jobs further than 30km from the Launceston, Devonport or Hobart GPO. All prices include GST.

Ducted Air Circulation System SOS™

(System Optimisation Service)

Dust builds up on fans, inlets, and outlets, reducing airflow, increasing noise, and wearing out components. Moisture and insects can also block filters in roof cavities and eaves.

Our service includes:

  • Cleaning of fan, inlets & outlets
  • Airflow balancing
  • Check ducting system integrity (connections, vermin damage, accidental alteration of ducting flow path, etc.)
  • Clean eave/gable or roof cowl condensation module, fly mesh, and inlet. Check electrical plug connections.
  • Check filter sock, if applicable. If required (and with your consent), this will be replaced at an additional charge.

A correctly-installed Ducted Air Circulation System reduces heating costs in your home by utilising sub-ceiling heat, recovering free solar gain from your roof cavity and distributing window solar gain from one room to others. This typically results in 15%+ savings on heating-related costs, often reducing the need for traditional heaters by 6 to 7 weeks annually.

Pricing (summer 2025)

  • Base service: $176 inc GST
  • Filter sock replacement (due every 2 to 3 years): $88 inc GST
