Window Condensation Control Checklist
To ensure that the air circulation system is being used optimally, here is a recommended checklist:
- Are you leaving the Ducted Air Circulation System (ACS) on 24/7 during the cooler months?
- Is a heater, such as a heat pump, left on overnight? This will keep the base temperature of the house up.
- Is the living room filtered inlet being cleaned on a regular basis? If not, the air distribution will be throttled.
- If you have a Condensation Control Module (eave or gable inlet, typically), has the outside filter being kept clean on a regular basis?
- Have you tried turning up the temperature of the living room heater overnight? An increase in overnight temperature around the home means there is less chance that condensation can form.
- Where possible, ensure that interjoining doors that lead to the living room inlet are kept ajar, particularly overnight. This will allow better circulation of air.
- If you have a heat pump (air con), has it had an annual service? This will improve the heat capacity output. (HEG does heat pump servicing).
Try these steps for a few days. If you do not see an improvement, please contact HEG for further advice and evaluation.
